Who Are We?

Welcome to the Strength Rehabilitation Institute of Ottawa.  We am dedicated to providing the highest level of focused rehabilitation through progressed strength training in the city.

Some people call David the “Dr. House” of fitness because his style is blunt, straightforward and he will be honest with you, even if it isn’t something that you want to hear.  Our goal is to make you stronger, faster or more athletic within the parameters of your body and the forces it can tolerate.

David Bateman – Owner and Head Trainer

David has been a personal trainer and coach for 17 years, and has more than 20,000 practical hours applying force to the human body to achieve results.   Using his education combined with a large knowledge of mechanics, physiology, and human movement he can create an exercise experience that is unparalleled for his clients.

His philosophy is based on science and simple application.  The belief is that through proper placement of force on joints, and changing the way that you think and approach exercise, you can have a radical difference in your quality of life and make you feel, move and think better not only now, but ten years from now.

He has achieved certifications from Can-Fit-Pro, the C.H.E.K. Institute and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology as well as many other courses in things like proper nutrition concepts, advanced mechanics and therapy modalities.  Here’s a short list of the courses or seminars he has attended:
