Update from the Institute
Well friends and clients, it has been quite some time since I’ve had any correspondence outside of managing my business as best I can during the pandemic. Due to many changes in society as well as my own business life, I put things aside because it was necessary. Now it’s time to refocus, and I’m definitely ready to begin offering insight and services to help people recover from whatever situations they might find themselves in.
During the pandemic I made the choice to withdraw from the Centre for Strength and Athlete Development where I was working near the Trainyards. The fact that public gyms were being shut down just made it unfeasible to go back and forth with clients, therefore I’m letting everyone know that I moved my practice to Barrhaven inside my home. I have a 600 square foot gym outfitted with all the required equipment necessary to work as effectively as in the past. The only difference being, you might have to deal with my elderly dog Woofie hovering around as you exercise. I’m also offering sessions virtually as I have been during the pandemic, so if that is something you would prefer it is available.
In January I passed the point where I have officially been a personal trainer for 20 years, which is crazy to think about. I know that the amount of knowledge I have amassed in two decades isn’t everything I need to know, and I continue to learn and study and develop new techniques to help my clients.
I also made the choice about nine months ago to return to school, and I’m excited that I’m working towards a diploma in psychotherapy which will be another massive tool that I can bring to my practice to help people not only with the physical side of things, but possibly also the mental and emotional as well That will be completed in January of 2023, at which time I will become a student counselor and be able to offer my services in that arena as well.

Times and situations have changed for a lot of us, but I also know that coming out of the pandemic there’s a lot of people that are returning to physical activity that are now having issues because you’re not moving as much. You’re sitting at home, your steps are down, and even publicly returning to activities can make you apprehensive. I’m here to let you know that I’m available to help with whatever situation you might have. While my client roster is pretty full, if you reach out I’ll do my best to accommodate whatever situation you might have.
So as always, if you’re looking for individual focus and attention or just need some insight or answers to questions that you might have about a physical issue, including any type of special condition (because there aren’t many that I haven’t worked with) feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help and I look forward to sharing more content with you more frequently in the future.
